1. Google Business Profile Optimization Checklist

Work through this list on your own profile. Every box you tick is a ranking signal you were leaving on the table.

  • Business name matches your real-world signage — no extra keywords stuffed in
  • Primary category is the closest match to your main service (not a broad one)
  • All services listed, each with a short plain-language description
  • Business description written for customers, not stuffed with keywords
  • Opening hours correct, including holiday hours
  • Phone number and website link tested — both actually work
  • At least 10 real photos: exterior, interior, team, and finished work
  • Q&A section answered — ask and answer your own top 3 questions
  • Google Posts published at least once a week
  • Every review replied to — positive and negative alike

2. Review Reply Templates

Copy, adjust the details, and post. Keep it short, human, and specific to what the customer said.

For a 5-star review:

"Thank you so much, [Name]! We're glad [the specific thing they mentioned] worked out well for you. Thanks for choosing us — and for taking the time to share this."

For a negative review:

"Thank you for telling us, [Name]. We're sorry [the specific problem] didn't go as it should have. We'd like to make this right — please reach us at [phone/email] so we can sort it out directly."

For a no-text star rating:

"Thank you for the [4/5]-star rating, [Name]! We appreciate your support. If there's anything we could do better next time, we'd love to hear it."

Three rules that matter more than the wording: reply to every review, reply within a day or two, and never argue in public — move the fix to a private conversation.

3. NAP Consistency Checklist

NAP = Name, Address, Phone number. Google trusts businesses whose details match everywhere. Check yours:

  • Write down your exact business name, address and phone number — one canonical version
  • Compare it against your Google Business Profile, website footer, and Facebook page
  • Check your top directories (Yelp, Yellow Pages, Apple Maps, Bing Places, industry directories)
  • Fix every mismatch — even small ones like "St." vs "Street" or an old phone number
  • Remove duplicate listings of your business where you find them
  • After any move or number change, update everywhere in the same week

4. Local Keyword Worksheet

Before you write a single page, answer these four questions for each service you offer:

  1. What would a customer in your town type into Google to find this service? (Write the exact words, not industry jargon.)
  2. Does that search show a map pack? If yes, it is a local keyword worth targeting.
  3. Which page on your site should rank for it — or do you need a new page?
  4. What proof can that page show: photos, reviews, service area, and a clear next step?

One service = one focused page. Ten services crammed onto one page ranks for none of them.

How to claim the audit or the call

Send a message through the contact page or by email, and include these three things so the audit is actually useful:

  • Your business name
  • Your website address (or your Google Business Profile link)
  • The town or city you serve

Are these free offers really free?

Yes. The audit, the consultation call and every guide on this page are free. No card details, no payment, and no obligation to buy any service afterwards.

What does the free local SEO audit check?

Your Google Business Profile completeness, your website's local pages, your NAP consistency across listings, your reviews, and a snapshot of where you rank for your main local searches. You get the findings plus a list of fixes, in plain language.

Do I have to buy a service after the free audit or call?

No. The audit and the call are free with no obligation. If you want help implementing the fixes, you can ask about paid services — but the free offers stand on their own.
